How often do you give blood and why do you do it?

So my question to the OT is how often do you donate and what's your motivation?

Last time I tried to donate blood was at OLOL. Guy stuck a needle into a tendon he went so deep. Pinky went numb. They didn't get more than a test baggy of blood.
Ended up having to be admitted because they let absolute idiots draw blood.

Wow, that sounds like a horrible experience. The lady in the bus for OLOL today was quick, friendly, and knew what she was doing. Hit or miss I guess

Average about every 3 months. I'm real bad about not doing it every 8 weeks.
I have O negative and I'm negative on some enzyme or something so babies needing blood have to have that type.

Used to do it 2-3 times per year since I have O-. Can't remember when I last did it.
