re: How often do you find money in public?

For some reason I have always been lucky with finding money in public. I found $100 one New Years Eve. I have found more money than I can remember. It happens about 6 times a year that I find a $5, $10, $20 or more.
I found a wallet in the middle of the road. It had $1100 in it and had no ID at all. It also had a bit of drugs so I assume it was some kinda drug deal thing. I made attempts to find the owner but no luck. I mean who is gonna come forward and claim to be the owner of a wallet of drugs and cash.
Once I was shopping in the local store. As i went down the aisle I noticed a $100 bill on the floor. I picked it up, looked around and saw ANOTHER $100 bill a few feet away. Then another. It was trail of $100 bills thru the store. I gathered up $1000 and went to the cashier and explained what happened. It turns out the cashier had had the money in her pocket to go turn it in and got distracted and lost it. She was so relieved and happy that I brought it to her.

Found a $20 about 10 years ago. Only time I've found money.

One time I was washing clothes and I pulled out $400 in 20's and 50's. I had no recollection of how it got there, but I was dealing in those days so it probably came from some dope deal.
Something similar to this happened when I was young and broke all the time. I was literally going through a drawer looking for enough change to go buy a 99 cent Whopper. Found $120.00 that I had forgotten about. Months before then I had it to buy coke. When my deal fell through I stuck it in there and forgot about it. Keep better track of my money and don't spend it on drugs any more, except for prescriptions.

if you find paper money you should ask everyone around to see whose it is. If noone claims it, then you should donate it to charity.
A few weeks ago, I saw a $5 bill on the floor in a crowded grocery store. I asked an old woman who was standing by it if it was hers. She said no and picked it up. No one else claimed it. The woman said that she'd put it in the collection basket at church the next day.

I used to hit Paparazzis pretty regularly. My bartender was Andy. Used to tip him pretty good.

The most I've ever found is a $100 bill flying through TGIF's parking lot, but I'm also the dickhead who dropped like $1500 dollars before coming from the casino.

Found $10 at the public bathrooms/boat launch in Grand Isle, LA back in 2004. You'd have thunk I won the lottery.
I bought a can of dip and some donuts from Port Foucheon gas station.
Cousin ate a donut then threw up all over the steering wheel. He probably shouldn't have been driving.

Dropped a $100 bill (I rarely have a $100, let alone on my person) last year in a casino restaurant in Biloxi. Guy sitting at a table behind me pointed it out to me instead of pocketing it. Thought that was a pretty cool thing of him to do.

I would be too. Make up a likely bullshite story. Sell it to a simpleton. Make an extra $1000.

I dropped $50 yesterday in the rain rushing from the ATM on The 200block of St Charles

Not that often. But the other day I went to the ATM to get just some pocket cash and it was out of order.
I was downtown so I was walking and I just happened to look down and there was a $20 that had blown up against a line of boxwoods. Someone probably drove up to the ATM and had it blow away and either didn't get out to look or couldn't find it.
I found two rusty nails in the road at the end of the drive yesterday. The neighbors are apparently having their kitchen remodelled based on the box truck in their drive with a cabinet makers name on the side. So I figure that's worth the price of not getting a flat tire.
I'd rather not think about the money or other valuable items that I've had slide out of the pockets of shorts or khaki pants.
Cliff's:. I've lost more than I've found.

our dog has found a $5 dollar bill and 3 $1 bills in past 2 weeks.
Were trying to get her to smell bills more and more, that damn money tree will be found.
Had a buddy in Virginia find cash that fell out of a money bag. He went past it 3 times, then stopped got out and down a small little embankment and grabbed it. Was close to $4500. What a lucky fark!

How so? Ask any bartender or barback, they will tell you the same. Th reason I stated this thread is because my daughter had found $30 in the last two days. The $600 was during Mardi Gras, where the bar was so packed, it could easily have happened.

I found a quarter in a parking lot one time. When I drop my change, I leave a penny for someone to find - it'll be their lucky penny.

Yeah...don't think they even keep hundreds in the register anymore

I thought the first time I read it she meant that the cashier had dropped it from her drawer.
Then I read it again and I think she meant the cashier found it and picked it up and was going to turn it in and dropped it herself. That's when I called bullshite. No way you find a grand and turn right around and drop it yourself.
