If a paternity test were mandatory following childbirth?

They would decrease IMO. Bitches would think twice if they knew they could be caught

Imagine how high it would be if that was retroactive.

A negligible amount. For every marriage ruined by it you'd prevent many future marriages that would likely end in divorce anyway.

I think the marriage rate might go down but the divorce rate wouldn't go up. Who the frick gets married before the kid gets there?

If only they could come up with a test you had to pass to become a father.

As for current marriages, I'm of the opinion that there are very few people who stay married while having someone else's kid, even without paternity tests.

To put it another way, I don't think there are many marriages that are successful while the wife is getting knocked up by someone other than her spouse. That marriage isn't going to make it regardless of the paternity test.

I once heard that 10% of men are raising someone else's kid(s) and don't know it.

Even if that is true, isn't it very likely that those marriages are ending in divorce eventually anyway?

I want to say they did a study in England and the rate of fathers that were raising someone else's child unaware was around 30%.

I would say that of the fathers who have only a gut feeling suspicion they are not the father are not the father 30 % of the time.

I had a Caucasian friend who had an African American baby with his girlfriend.

He surmised that because he (my friend) was adopted and did not know his birth parents, he might have African ancestry.
