I'm close to my family. I couldn't imagine walking away and me never calling/seeing them again. I wake up in the morning and call my sister or my mom to have a chat while I drink coffee. Every morning.

This is definitely one of the few questions where "not enough" is definitely the answer.
But there are a lot of people with not many ties, they'd be gone with the quickness and understandably so.

Family, not enough cash in the world. If I did this, I'm sure I'd eventually kill myself over the grief I'd caused my family.

If there's enough money to make you walk away from your family and friends, I'd say you're an utterly deplorable individual. I've traveled pretty extensively and rarely been unable to do whatever the hell I want to do. I have had my family and friends as support through my years, and even having a significant change of schedule where you can't contact them for hours at a time can be a highly frustrating experience. Walking out of their lives without a single explanation or ability to contact them, I don't know if I'd be able to live with myself.

I've lived a fairly fortunate life, and aside from doing a some cooler things, I don't think that having tons of money would very significantly make my life better than it is now, especially enough to make up for losing all my family and current friends. Family is really the most priceless thing in the world, and income doesn't matter for shite in making you a stable and satisfied individual. Family on the other hand does.

Number 1 rule in life:

The true wealth of a person is not measured by the things he would take money for, but rather for the things he would not take money for.

And what's so toolish about that post? My only point is that things that seem cool and are cool to others get old once you've been doing them for some time. Money buys cool shite, but without loved ones around you it really means nothing. Family is something that should be there for you at all times, and anyone who says otherwise is a fool.

I come from a pretty large Catholic family. To walk away from them all forever? We'd have to be talking at least five figures.

Jesus said if your not willing to leave your father and mother and follow me then you will have no part of me. Are you saying Jesus was a fool?

Around $2 billion. Then I'd go on a hookers and blow binge. Find a model for a wife. Buy a G6, a fleet of luxury cars and properties.

I actually took an offer like this a few years ago. Some dude on Reddit asked this question. Most people were all like I couldn't do it, my family, etc., but I popped off $5 million would do the trick.

I admit the kids took it hard, and holidays can be difficult, but the money has been sweet. I still live a fairly humble lifestyle, but I have a full-time driver, two house maids, and three 19 year old girlfriends who love me very much.

I sometimes wonder if I made the right decision, then I laugh and have another drink from my limo bar.
