Move to money board to get at least a couple positive and constructive answers

Depends on your expectations for retirement. If you want to retire at 60 and live in West Palm Beach, your needs will be different from someone who intends to retire at 68 in southern Arkansas.

I didn't even get out of school until I was 25 so.....
Also, numbers should be different for singles and couples and when expenses began to be shared, etc.

By 25 I should have had at least 25,000 in the bank... Worked offshore and made a mistake... I was making awesome money back then... Now I have some savings but have had to dip into a lot of it because of disability pay is garbage..Between the age of 18 and 22 I spent a shitload of money on Pot music and bourbon street....

Yeah, I'll be 30 when I finish residency. I've been able to save a little bit, but really won't get started until after 30. These threads just make me have a sad :(
