I usually give them a go at my wife. Suckers, they could have gotten it for free anyway.

That's fair.

Typically give furniture delivery guys 10 bucks for delivering and setting up one or two things.

I gave my (4) amigos, 3 breakfast tacos and an A&W Root Beer each.

They were thrilled.

I had a new mattress delivered awhile back and tipped the guys $5 each and gave each one a bottle of water. Depending on how much stuff you have, $20 is probably overkill. They already get paid.

Lift with your legs, not your back is the only tip they get.

20 each is a solid tip for moving an apartment. Any mover would be happy to get that.

Are you supposed to tip movers? Don't you already pay them well for their service?

$10 a head is acceptable imho, but $20 is great. Give the bills to the supervisor and he'll give it to the baws.

Are you supposed to tip delivery appliance people ? Had a fridge delivered last week and didn't. But I'm a cheap SOB and probably shouldn't have even bought the fridge to begin with.

I usually don't. After many PCS's, just usually provided pizza lunch or something.

This is my thinking. A few years ago, when the SO was pregnant and we moved out of our one bedroom apartment to a two bedroom, we paid I think $200 for two guys, and it took them maybe an hour. It's not my fault if their boss doesn't pay them well out of the $200 we gave them.

I don't think so.

I delivered furniture for about a year back in college. I rarely received a tip, and I never expected one. Maybe I just sucked.

That's a good point. My grandparents moved from Mobile to Mandeville about a year ago. Granted, it was a pretty big house- but the total cost for the movers was a couple thousand bucks. fricking ridiculous.

Not a dime.

Last time I used movers, they charged me $250 for a four hour job, 2 movers. That's a little over $30/hour per mover.

Servers make like $2 an hour.

Tipping in America is retarded.
