To me that's a lot less ke being a financial advisor. You either need to be a badass salesman in a good market or you need to be very well connected.

You don't make your money selling cars. You make it selling coke on the side to your coworkers.

the way i understand it, they make around $500-$1000 commission per sale depending on the price. the more upgrades and option packages the more they make, if they sell a "basic" package at list price of just below its right around that $500 mark

Average commission on a new car is a minimum commission of usually $100-200. Gross could be higher on used to make some more. But a $1,000 commission would be a huge outlier.

Average car salesmen sell about 10-12 cars/month. You can make a decent living off that. Good ones can sell 20 plus and make a good living. If you've been doing it a long time anywhere and can follow up you should be selling 20 a month without having to take ups.

Nope and I wouldn't start. I can find everything I want to about a vehicle online. People would rather not step on a physical car lot anymore. CarMax and shite gonna takeover like Redbox.

It aint about the price of the vehicle, it's about the gross made. Prices are up, but as mentioned before so is comparison shopping. New cars are usually sold around invoice, meaning no room for a salesman to make gross.

I would say 10 for new cars, 20 for used.

The money is def there, it all depends if its new or used. New cars don't cut much profit.

A good friend of mine used to sell cars for a big time dealership in BR. He told me he sold a used diesel truck and made $1600 just off that one sale.

I would think that is backwards. With such a fixed pricing on new cars. Always heard car dealers make their "money" on buying/selling used vehicles.
