How many people do you think Robert Durst has murdered?

On his 30th birthday in 1973, Durst married Kathleen McCormack. Durst divorced her in 1990, eight years after her disappearance, claiming spousal abandonment. On December 11, 2000, shortly before Susan Berman was murdered in Los Angeles, Durst married Debrah Lee Charatan. According to The New York Times, the couple briefly shared a Fifth Avenue apartment in 1990 but "have never lived together as husband and wife". Durst once told his sister that it was "a marriage of convenience"; "I wanted Debbie to be able to receive my inheritance, and I intended to kill myself," Durst said in a 2005 deposition. Charatan currently lives with one of Durst's lawyers, Steven I. Holm.
Durst traveled and lived under dozens of aliases over the years, using different identities to buy cars, rent apartments, and open credit card accounts. "He had a scanner, copier and a laminating machine," a former office employee of Durst told Newsweek. "What I didn't realize is that I unwittingly saw what would have allowed Robert Durst to make a fake driver's license." Durst was also "a prolific user of private mailboxes," and apparently conducted business under a number of canine-themed names: Woofing LLC, WoofWoof LLC, and Igor-Fayette Inc.
In the early 1980s, Robert Durst owned a series of seven Alaskan Malamutes each named "Igor", which according to Durst's brother, Douglas, died under mysterious circumstances. In December 2014, prior to the airing of The Jinx, Douglas told The New York Times, "In retrospect, I now believe he was practicing killing and disposing his wife with those dogs." Durst was once recorded saying he wanted to "Igor" his brother Douglas. Robert, however, has disputed the notion that he owned seven dogs named "Igor"; he owned three, he said, one that was run over and another that died in surgery after eating an apple core, "before the Igor that lasted forever."
In late 1981 while Durst was married to Kathie McCormack Durst, he was nearing the end of a three-year affair with Mia Farrow's sister Prudence Farrow Bruns, who was also married at the time. A few months before Kathie's disappearance in January 1982, Bruns called Kathie and asked her to give Robert up, as friends said she wanted him all to herself. After Durst's acquittal of murdering Morris Black in 2003, Bruns contacted law enforcement authorities with concerns for her safety, as she said Durst was angry with her for terminating their relationship three days before Kathie disappeared
Watching the documentary on HBO GO about him. I had read about him previously but I always thought he was only suspected for the disappearance of his wife. Had no idea how crazy the dude actually is. His family is worth $4.4 billion and he settled with them for $65 million to give his claims to their holdings. He was worth around $110 million when he was arrested in NOLA last year.
The documentary is 6 episodes but worth a watch. It's called The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst

What if one of the family is a regular on this site, wanting to be here for an escape?
I make this point, because I know what that would be like.

It's the internet and a message board where people discuss things. Not sure you can expect to use either of those as a means to "escape" something like this that has been news for 30 years now.
Maybe we shouldn't poke fun at Kanye anymore in case the Kardashians read his site?

You want to compare Kanway going broke, to an unsolved murder,to the family involved?

He befriended and eventually employed a local cabdriver( story in the LA times) here in Houston that I've used as an on call cabby

I didn't compare the two at all. I simply was showing how unreasonable you are to think that an open forum like this should be free from discussion just because someone (you) may be related to a victim. Sorry if you are, but others are allowed to discuss it.
My point was should we tiptoe around all topics just on the off chance someone here was related to someone involved? It's an unreasonable request or thought.

It's intriguing that he is crazy as can be but cunning and rich enough to have gotten away with everything he's been accused/suspected of.

He was about 40 when DNA began to be used as a law enforcement tool. The murders of many vagrants and "unimportant" people may have DNA evidence sitting, untested, in evidence lockers nationwide.
I mention that because he seemed to enjoy killing and had a temper. He also travelled a lot and could have killed before leaving a city. I wonder if anyone has ever cross referenced his travels with local killings?
I have nothing to base any speculation on. Just thinking out loud.

well, I will tell you, I am one of those people that have a next-of Kin relationship to an unsolved murder.35 years I have been waiting for it to be solved.Every possible scenario that you think about,it's gone through my mind 5 billion times, and dismissed.
I want to come here for jokes and stuff, smart arse remarks, advice for some kids.
Am I over the top?
frick it, if I am.
and on top of that, you people who take this lightly..well you love sucking dick, and you run your mouths like stupid bitches..

I am confused. Is Durst a suspect in the unsolved murder you know of?
If so I am honestly sorry to hear that.
If not why are you picking out my thread to bring this up? There have been thousands of topics about murder here because it's an open forum where people discuss a multitude of topics.
