I live inside the loop and commute to my office north at 45 and the beltway. If you live here and have half a brain, you learn pretty quickly when and when not to get on the busy freeways. I've been here for almost five years and traffic is hardly an issue at all for me. Houston is a great place to live.

Where does the Katy Freeway twist and turn like that? It's basically a straight line.
I think that picture is of somewhere else.

Louisiana doesnt know how to build roads with that many lanes
Re-paving quality and the length of time it takes to resurface are also bad.
If roads were smoother, traffic would probably flow a little better.

I used to every morning. My office is off of Barker Cypress/I10 and I used to drive from Sugar Land every day. Took forever and was expensive. Just bought a house 1.6 miles from my office and havent paid a toll or sat in traffic since.

So how many times a day does some idiot in the far left lane realize....opps this is my exit on the right! Surely I can just ease over in front of these nice people to get off!

Not everyday but, have sat in traffic there too many times to count.

Actually, Houston has tree planting requirements for all new commercial and residential development.
If you mean the suburbs of houston, most are even more strict than Houston about tree requirements and open space planning.
That pic if from the houston area might be Harris County or some other surrounding county. And if you look closely, each one has a new planted tree.

Some of the newest suburban developments have few trees. They were cleared out and then houses built. New trees are planted but until they grow, it's barren. The older neighborhoods have plenty mature trees. Plus there are numerous playgrounds and green spaces.
shite, one of the biggest suburbs of Houston is literally called The Woodlands.

I live in Houston and my backyard backs up to the Addicks Resevoir where there is Forrest for miles. There are deer in my yard all the time. There seems to be way more green space in Houston than in BR where I used to live.
