Is there a waiting time? My attorney hasn't really answered my question.

If you pay him and he doesn't answer, why should we for free?

Hope he is not the atty who bonded out today...if so, you may be waiting a little while.

The only true answer you’ll get: “it depends on the case.”

Whoever you sued probably doesn’t have the funds to pay you. Probably why they didn’t settle with you to begin with. You won’t see a dime and will still have to pay your attorney.
