Currently taking 5 classes in my last semester, two of which are going towards finishing my minor.

I've officially checked out and couldn't give two shits about this semester anymore. I just want to pass and get it over with. Problem is, I'm going to be borderline with a business class that I just have no interest in other than it being put to my minor.

If I were to drop it, how much would you all think it would screw me over in the job hunt?

I'll be above a 3.0, if that makes it any better

Pretty sure employers don't give 2 shits about minors.

It would have absolutely zero effect.

That's good to know. I figured it would be a great resume padder, but not hurt too much. Good to know I am not making a terrible decision.

Minor is useless. If you are an engineering student, wait until you are hired. Many employers will fund your MBA which is much more useful towards career advancement.

Only do the minor if you are interested in learning the material. Employers don't care about minors. If it is the only time you will have seen an accounting or finance class then that will be super useful information for you though.

Don't ever admit this to anyone.

I have a minor in comm studies only because a counselor noticed that I could take a film history elective that would complete the minor and my elective courses.

It hasn't been brought up once since that conversation.

Thought this was going to be a thread about having a minority (woman and/or non-caucasian) owner of business.

As an exec it would mean little to nothing when I look at your resume or interview you

but I would pay attention if it was more specific such as finance, accounting or even marketing etc

I'll even go so far as to say a minor really offers only bragging rights for the vast majority. An example I can think of is to try to get into another field, and your minor in that field shows you didn't just get interested in it overnight. But, you're still competing for jobs/promotions with cats who have a major in the field.

I'm not even sure academia cares about minors at all - beyond granting them.

I have one. And a general studies degree. I pull a grand every two weeks after taxes.
