How far could you throw a shotput?

For reference:

Shot weighs 16 lbs and world record distance is 75 ft.

I used to throw a 12 pound one around 37 ft or so in high school if my memory serves me

That was soph year. If I tried throwing a 16 lb one now I'd probably throw it 10 feet and tear a muscle

I threw shotput in HS (12 lb)

My record was 49 ft something. the skinny kid from st paul threw it like 54 and that was considered really good, but I think state won with something closer to 60

Remember how many we have who could easily throw an NFL football 60+ yards? Farther than many NFL quarterbacks threw in the QB long distance challenge?

Shotput should be easy for some of this crew.
