Media gets ratings from racial strife.

Social media gives the most obnoxious and cloying people a voice.

There was more racial tension in the 60s.

I think that is inevitable at this point. The media and it's bullshite narrative will not stop until they get it.

We can blame the media, and I get that, but the culprit is the undeniable fact that most people are fricking stupid. The media gets the blame for manipulating the dumb, but the dumb deserve their own blame too.

However, like someone else said, this shite isn't happening in real life. Social media and 24-hr news have to fill a ton of time, and this is what you get.

Agreed social media did a major part of this but so did Obama. I don't like getting into this conversation but I absolutely hate what I see going on these days. Obama basically brought back the black panthers and fully supported them but the very second white people get together and want to protest, we are racist or don't deserve to be protesting .

IMO it's the worst it's been since segregation and will continue to intensify.

I think it's better than it was in the 80s, or really now is no worse than most periods.

We just have access to more information now to talk about it and random people can have more of a voice with social media.

Easy

Blacks cry at every turn in life......WTF are you concerned about something that happened hundreds of years ago

Get educated....millions of people are successful who grew up in projects

Stop killing each other

Stop having babies out of wedlock, make sure your children have the same last name

Stop blaming your failures on others

Get your arse out of the streets, go to work, go hard me to your family

Learn history

Y'all watch too much TV and take Soclal Media too seriously. I interact with Black People on a daily basis and there's literally no tension whatsoever.

Turns out if you just smile at people and ask how they're doing, 99 out of 100 will smile back and do the same. Who woulda known if you treat people with dignity and respect they'll mostly reciprocate?

It's mainstream media, social media, and terrible leaders.

It's stunning how many people can live their life every day trying to become offended by legacies left by deceased people. It shouldn't amaze me, but it does.

Most of the people going ape shite about names and monuments are not your everyday working folks...at least I don't think.

I'm scared for the future of this country. It will soon become a sterile, soulless place, run by the ignorant (white, black, or brown) whose entire agenda is to erase anything they disagree with.

It's the vocal minority that's getting the endorsement of the media and elected officials to make radical changes and cause division.

Though they are small they are wreaking absolute havoc on the civil process and law and order.

The Media

I'd say social media more than anything has fanned the flames. Look at the dumb misinformation people post on the regular that a large part of our population believes without thinking twice about what they're promoting.

Yep, media picks up on it for the ratings then politicians pick up on it because the media has blown it out of proportion.
