Look no further than Blue Hog Report. That's who broke the story that geauxjudge = Mike Maggio. It ultimately stemmed from the fact that he was disclosing confidential details about Charlize Theron's adoption case in Arkansas. Someone--an LSU fan apparently--contacted a lawyer and blogger in Arkansas, who started looking at geauxjudge's posts and figured out who he really was.

Shortly after Blue Hog Report broke that story, they posted this, showing how they'd dug into his campaign's finances and found very suspicious contributions:

He was apparently campaigning or gearing up to campaign for public office in Arkansas. This seems to have brought more attention to him. Some small progressive website broke the information that geauxjudge was indeed Judge Maggio and had posted some sexist stuff and confidential information on tigerdroppings. It seems likely to me that some tigerdroppings reader (or maybe even poster) put together the information that he posted about himself, that he was a judge, that his daughter attended LSU and played golf there, that he worked in the same court that handled the Theron adoption, and relayed that information to the website.
