How can anyone not believe cameras and microphones on our phones

Are recording constantly? Goes for your tv's and any other electronic devices. And this data is assimilated by programs co-develeped by phycological profilers/designers and run/stored by massive unbelievably huge, monstrous mainframes and super computers under the gulf of Mexico.
I mean...I'm not saying it's for diabolical intentions.
But...
Just seams like it to easy not to with how powerful computers have become...how easy it is to tap into..and it's basically leagal at the moment. And what parts are not will be in the future with no grandfather Claus to save you. All those empty FEMA camps...all the hate and division perpetually perpetuated on TV and media
But maybe not

I'm sure it happens. It's probably a lot easier than I even know to do. shite, I might and probably have actually agreed to it in one of those user agreements that I've checked that no one actually reads. It's scary how I notice I'll be reading something on my phone then go to search for something related to it on my computer and the autofill will be immediately on point.
The only thing protecting us are the sheer mass numbers and overwhelming amount of data that someone would have to sift through. I imagine that computing power nowadays can make swift work of it, but someone still has to take a particular interest in the first place, which still seems statistically unlikely on an individual basis.

No if programs that are running look for keywords to flag. Everything could still be being recorded to possibly be used at a future date.

A few weeks after I got this phone (Samsung Galaxy s5) I was telling my friend (in- person) that I needed to buy some new tires. Over the next few days started seeing ads for tire dealers on td.com. I know for a fact I hadn't searched for tires on my phone. In fact I still haven't searched for tires and I had never seen those ads on this site.
A few weeks ago I had something similar happen where I made a joke in private fb messenger about laser pointers and started seeing ads for laser pointers on websites.
I'm not a conspiracy theorist but I wouldn't put it past these companies to be selling info to advertisers.
I'm just assuming it was coincidence but I'm planning on doing some tests to see if I can reproduce the results.

My aunt is super-paranoid. I told her that some people believe the webcam on laptops (for example) are constantly recording, and that some people put tape over the webcam.
Next time I looked at her laptop, she had tape over the webcam...
