How are people supposed to explain gay marriage to their kids?

In 30 years, when everyone looks back in history with disgust and says "It really took that long for gay marriage to become legal?". How will those who have opposed human rights explain to their children that they were some of the bigots against the movement? Maybe they can ask older relatives/friends who were likely opposed to desegregation in the 60's, perhaps.

The same way we deal with older folks now who are racist.

They won't ask. They'll just watch their parents behavior towards it. Some will learn it's no big deal and others will be bigots.

my daughter is not quite 3 and sees same sex couples all of the time. She has been to work functions with me and seen my boss and his husband. She has never asked anything about it. I think if you dont make an issue out of things it never gets questioned.
