I saw it. You can knock Sylvester for his pronunciation but dude has been a great leader through this tragedy. Hasn't politicized a single thing. Only giving facts and being a positive, calm leader throughout this. I have zero complaints about his handling of this situation.

I've been happy with our liberal mayor, our conservative county judge, and our governor. The response should make all Texans proud.

Yeah. You can second guess Turner's evacuation call a bit but he's been pretty classy and not blaming anybody.

I thoroughly enjoyed earlier this week when he was asking for donations of clothes for bigger people.

'Not all women are....you know, uhh...small...some are bigger.'

In our neck of the woods all the requests are for XL and larger.

I worked at a shelter last night and as bad as this sounds, most middle class healthy people are not the ones in as much need. Most donations and shelters are for those that didn't have other options. I helped more than a few morbidly obese people.

Well said.

I did not vote for the man, but if one more national reporter asks him why there was no evacuation, that reporter should be escorted out of Texas. If the mayor would have called for evacuation for a storm landing near Corpus Christi, he would have been run out of town. Many of the people requiring rescuing probably would not have left anyway, and most knew the risks but believed they had a good plan. He did the right thing, and has done a good job throughout this disaster. Ray Nagin should take notes from prison, and Mitch Landrieu should just resign.

Turner has done a great job in this storm. All of the local Officials have been outstanding.

Thought so too. Turner's been great, as has the emergency judge fellow, and Jeff Lindher (sp?). Regular pressers with plenty of information. Tons of patience. etc.
