I've never taken the family to Houston and was thinking about heading that way Thanksgiving weekend.
Are there and special events taking place during that time? Maybe some Christmas related stuff?

Houston Zoo Lights

Houston Rockets

Discovery Green usually has a lot of kid/family stuff going on. Possible ice skating by then

Turkey Trot

Miller Outdoor Theater at Hermann Park may have some plays/shows going on.

Sam Houston Race Park is supposed to have a big lights display as well.

From Houston, head east for approximately 300 miles along I-10, and look for the LSU vs Aggie football game.

not sure if they will be up that early, but the lights on the houses in river oaks are ridiculous.
