Some hired labor.

Interesting. Wonder if a fight broke out between some family members over this?

possibly but i think it would be more like the family member telling other low-lifes "hey you can rob my family member, the safe is here... Make sure nothing happens though"

The call came into police at 10:15pm last night. I don't think anyone will open their door for a handyman or anyone like that at night. This had to be someone they knew very well and trusted for them to welcome them into their home at night (or at least during the evening).

this could have happened during the day. Obviously someone was concerned they had not heard from them all day prior

I wonder if the couple was forced to drive there then was murdered or if they were murdered first, then driven there by the dickwad(s). Either way, they had to have had a get away vehicle waiting for them at the truckstop or possibly lives around the area and just walked.
This won't be a hard one for the men in blue to solve.

I'm willing to bet they already have names and that suspects will be named, if not arrested, by the end of the day.

Jesus whoever did it could be in Chicago or St. Louis up 55 by now. Or anywhere else on 20 or 40.

Holy crap. Stuff like this makes me worried for my elderly parents. Luckily, mine are dirt poor and hopefully less of a target.

True. I know one thing, I live in a good area but if I get a knock on my door at night when I'm not expecting someone, I'm going to be at least a little suspicious. Look through a window, peephole, or a security camera pointed toward your doors before opening the door when you don't know who it is. Don't just open the door. If it's someone I don't know, I'm calling the cops and having my gun ready just in case they try to get in. frick that noise...

everyone predicting this will be solved soon, I'm not so sure. Would love to know the story on the truck they found the bodies in.
