Has anyone here ever hired a bookkeeper for your personal household finances?
It was suggested to me by a friend after telling him about some financial trouble we are going through.

How hard is it to manage your own finances? Sounds to me like you're just irresponsible

Use excel or maybe some sort of personal finance software if you want to go that route. Sit down with your SO and get on the same page about a budget and stick to it. Look at your expenses vs income and see what you can cut. Paying someone is just another expense and I don't know that you would see any kind of upside to it or not to make it worth it.

To do what exactly? Pay your bills? Literally all my personal bills are auto withdraw out of a single account that I filter money into from my various income sources.

No.

Go see your banker.

That's what they do.

Anyone with the disposable income to hire a personal bookkeeper should also have the brains to do it themself

No offense, but sounds like you are spending too much money. Hiring a bookkeeper isn't going to magically make this problem better. In fact, it may make it a bit worst with the cost of hiring someone.

Have two checking accounts. Add up all of your bills and have that amount (plus savings) direct deposited from your check into one account. Have the rest of your check direct deposited into the other account.

Don't touch the bill account except to pay bills.

If you're going through financial troubles, then a bookkeeper won't be able to help you. All they will be able to do is accurately show your your troubles. Why don't you speak with an advisor...depending on what your "troubles" are?

I guess this is a Lil bit related. I used 2 do all my own taxes but last year Bae gifted me some large $$$ to try to hide some gambling wins and also he gave me half his lawsuit moneys. So I chose HR BLOCK.

I went 2 the nearest office n it was super busy so I got stuck with a very shy and very large man named Paco. He dint know how to speak any English at all bit he knew dollaz n numbers no probz. It was getting late n I had broken out some rum that I had in my thermos which he had zero issues with. Downed the whole thing b4 he got to my itemized deductions.

Let's just say he took me to the employee bathroom and itemized every thing on my body and maximized my return all over his chest. I never saw Paco again.
