Person A,B, and C live in a house together for a year. They split the cost of a couch when they moved in. Person A is moving out and feels entitled to taking the couch since person A found it and with the help of person C drove to pick up the couch. Person B and C don't think person A should take the couch. Keep in mind that all three persons paid equal amount for the couch.

It's a couch. Is it really that big a deal? Take $40 for your cut and move on.

Well the couch has depreciated so B and C or A should only need to pay a % of the original price.

Persons B and C should buy out person A of his/her portion of the couch.

Agree with others that A buys other two out or B and C buy A out.

In reality, I think person A and C have a small small advantage since they went to get the couch. Time is valuable. So I think Rock Paper Scissors between A and C in terms on who buys who out.

I would think 60% of person A original share would be fair or A buys out B and C with 60% of their original share.

Why would the guy moving out want to take it away from the two guys staying?

B and C should be dropping loads all over that couch like a dump truck until A gives up.

All three have equal value, it doesn't matter who found it, it matters who paid for it. I'd say since two out of the three parties disagree then Person A has no right to take the couch.

If they think they can have the couch then they pretty much conned you and the other roommate.
