I can't remember but I think it was 2005 but we were supposed to have a hurricane hit Louisiana in November. I remember everybody freaking out but before it made landfall the entire hurricane disappeared. I just remember it was a Saturday and a dark cloudy light rainy day just waiting for it to hit but never did. Being it was November the cool weather killed it I think and I remember how lucky we were because I didn't want to go through without power again.

That may have been Juan in 85? My cousins that lived in Chauvin flooded out and came stay with us for a few days. I vividly remember my male cousin dressing up as a witch, we still give him shite about it to this day.

Lilly in 2003 was a mid October one if I remember correctly.

That's the latest one I can think of.

correction: Early October of 2002

Wilma was the last storm to hit the US in 2005. I seem to recall there were projections that it would come into the Gulf, but it ended up going along the East Coast.

That was mid-to-late October. I don't think any other of the tropical storms really threatened the Gulf coast after that. 2005 was a crazy season. 27 named storms, I believe.

We were at the fishing camp and came home to see everyone boarding up. Lived in Bourg at the time and Juan left us without power for a good week plus water half way up the font yard.

It might have been Wilma. Damn I didn't know if drifted that way. I was still in high school and I remember watching jay grimes saying disappeared. I guess I was wrong because it was almost November with that storm.

No I think it was Wilma. I just couldn't remember if it was 2004 or 2005. I know I was still in high school and I graduated in 2005. I'm sure I wasn't paying attention to it as close as I would have been now but I think hurricane Wilma is my answer then and thanks to all with the info.

Juan was a bitch, flooded most of all Lower Terrebonne Parish and all a lot of Lower Lafourche as well as Lockport. It spun around in Terrebonne bay for a long time before coming ashore.
