I haven't been in at least 10 years. Looking for nice beach, good food, not much traffic (human or vehicle), activities. proximity to white sand beaches. Driving down from Atlanta and making way towards 65 and then back up to Birmingham- only have 3 days. what's the best bang for my buck? no megaresorts.

you claim to be an Aubbie fan and don't know Alabama

since you only have 3 days, just stay in hotlanta and Bham....no time for a beach trip

I have 3 days at the beach. other time in ATL and bham.

I am pretty sure the coast has changed a lot since the last time I was there, so that is why I am asking. you people live around the gulf coast, hence me asking you.

and Gulf Coast > Northern Cali coast by far as far as beaches.

Well, I don't know if it will be a value by any means, but the best place with the best restaurants is the area down 30A near seaside or watercolor.

If you want a less crowded area, east of Pensacoula in Navarre would probably be your best bet.

Cape San Blas, except you'd have to drive to Port St. Joe for restaurants.

Perdido Key, Florida is where you want to go. There aren't many high rise condos in that area, and it borders a National Bird Refuge.

After you pick your location, go to the food board for suggestions on the restaurants.
The OT will have you eating at Lamberts

Any place around Gulf Shores. Beaches are awesome, and you will just miss the kids out of school. The weather will be hotter than SF this time of year.

Pensacola for sure. Eat at GrandMarlin and Hemingway's. Beache's are gorgeous. Look online for hotels/condos

Pensacola is actually a lot nicer than people make it out to be. Yeah it has that panhandle Florida trash areas but it's a really good time.

I love Palafox St.

I always enjoyed the area around Pensacola too.

and pretty much any time between may and october is warmer at the gulf coast compared to SF> you do not get in the ocean in SF without a pretty heavy wetsuit.
