Headed to Mexico City in Two Weeks... Help!

Found out yesterday that I will be heading down to Mexico City in a couple of weeks to (hopefully) close a deal for my company. I will be staying at the Four Seasons, but I am concerned about safety around the area. I have a service picking me up from the airport, but what's my best bet for grabbing a brew after the meeting? Travel wise and location wise.

ask your kidnappers to buy you a 'brew'

I was just there staying at the JW which is in the same area. It's very nice area. Ask the hotel to arrange your pickup from the airport. Go to PWs for a beer...

Just grab a cab and ask them to take you to a lesser-populated part of town and find a local watering hole. Usually, the poorer parts of town will be your best bet for less crowded bars and cheap cevezas.
Tell the bartender that you are from the US and drop a few comments about making a lot of money and having nice things back in the US and you'll be making friends in no time.

Agree, but so they know you're not a person to take advantage of, remind them of how many people back in the USA love you and would do anything to ensure your safety.

I just wouldn't stay outside the hotel after 11PM. Security is not that bad in that entire area. Go out and have a nice dinner. Prime and Wine is a nice dinner that you and your business peeps will enjoy.

Tell the Sinaloa Cartel I said hello.

You're not going to get kidnapped.

Make sure to wear a Landon Donovan shirt. They love him in Mexico City.

Ask your company to cover this for you: Seriously
I feel like this makes it so much more attractive to get kidnapped.
Wow.

You'll be fine. Just be alert and keep your belongings tucked away.
I was there last year and didn't feel unsafe, but I'm very alert.

Mexico City is actually nice and not the same as the lawless border towns.

This.
It's Northern Mexico that I don't want to visit.
ETA: That said pollution is horrible and you may be surprised as I was that it's a really high elevation city (7K+ feet, higher than Denver). High altitude and shitty air quality made climbing the Aztec pyramids way harder than I thought
