Have you ever washed something that says spot clean only?

Serious question.

I'm too lazy (and cheap right now) to go out and buy a new mattress pad. I have this fiberbed thing currently and I want to "freshen it up". It's rather flat where we sleep now.

Can I bring this to a laundromat and have one of those industrial washers clean it and "freshen it up" or am I screwed and just need to buy a new one.

TL;DR I'm lazy and want a clean fiberbed without buying a new one.

Wash it and if it turns out bad, go out and spend the $50 on a new one

No but I cut the tag off mattresses. And I run with scissors.
