Have you ever sold something too cheap on Craigslist?

Twice I've put things on there where the phone blew up all day and wouldn't stop. The other 20 or so times I feel like I done well.

probably everything I've sold on CL

if I'm selling it on CL, it means I want it gone, if I get $1 for it, I'll be happy

post it higher than you want and negotiate down to what you want.

I'm sure I have a time or two, but I always price way too high and leave some haggle room. I ended up selling some jeep stuff to a guy for way cheaper than I should have just because he was there to buy an old car radio and was interested in the other stuff too. Practically gave it away, but he paid what I wanted for the radio so in the end I was probably about the same.

I hate the calls and texts asking me what my lowest amount is on a car they haven't even seen or driven. My go to response is come drive it and then we'll talk price. About 95% of them I never hear back from.

Post fake add for antique but fully functioning Vespa for sale, complete with stolen pictures and legit description, and put your buddy's cell phone number on it.

And price it at $50.

Enjoy.

I did this as a prank to my old colleague in the cube next to me. He had no idea wtf was happening. His phone literally rang constantly, without a break between rings, for several hours before he could figure out what was going on.

I hate those calls and emails.

"I NEED to know your bottom dollar best price."

I ways just reply, "I think it's fairly priced but am willing to entertain all reasonable offers"

Then he saw me snickering and put call forwarding on his iphone to forward all calls to my number

So I got alllll the calls for about 20 minutes before taking the ad down

Quite clever on his part.

I recently sold a rusted out boat trailer for $200. I had people begging me to sell it to them. I figured if I got anything I was happy, as I was going to take it to the junkyard. It was damaged structurally from the rust

When I sell I want it gone quick so I go cheap. I also do "curb alerts" sometimes where I just toss shite in front of my neighbor two houses down, because it's empty and tag it on the map.

These people are poor negotiators and trying to cheat the haggling process.

No, I won't tell you my bottom dollar price. I listed a starting point already. Now you tell me what you think you should pay for it, and I'll let you know if it's too low.

Considering doing this with an old mattress. Think someone wants an old mattress?

No box spring.

I really don't feel like borrowing a truck or strapping it to the top of my vehicle to bring it to a dump somewhere.

Ive tossed a king mattress out in front of the house on garbage day several times. Not sure if garbage men pick it up or not but they've been gone every time.
