yes, when i was first driving, i wasnt paying attention to my gas gauge, and i died in the turn lane.

i had about 10 cars behind me, i got out, locked door, and walked home. the look on the peoples faces was priceless.

but once they got around my car, and caught up to me, i heard quite a few comments, and people letting me know that i was #1.

No. I rarely go below 1/4 tank.

Twice. But both times I happened to be near a gas station and had just enough gas to pull into it.

No.

But I'm super OCD about it. When my truck says I have less than 100 miles to go I feel the need to fill up.

My first car didn't have a working gauge so I ran it out a couple of times.

No, I had it beat into my head while I was in the Army to always have your vehicle full. Now I usually don't let my truck get below half a tank.

4 times. three in an old s-10 that the gas gauge didn't work in (it stopped at 1/4 so anythign past that was a guessing game. One of those times was on the west bank expressway. The fourth time was this past football season in my jeep that has a broken gas gauge. Ran out abotu 200 yards from a gas station at midnight after a football game.

I did. As a broke college student right in the heart of the I75/I85 connector. Good times.

Had an older vehicle with an unreliable gas gauge. But let's be real, I was rolling the dice.

Yes, and I was able to roll into a gas station. I was close to pissing off a LOT of morning work drivers

Nope. Came pretty close when I was in high school, and didn't really have any personal money. Otherwise I don't see how it happens to people, except in extreme circumstances.

Yep, broken fuel gauge. After that, I just kept a close eye on the trip meter until I fixed it.

Is that really considered running out of gas then?

I ran out of gas on I10 on a New Year's morning after a night of partying. The first and last time that happened. Sucked.
