Yes, my first job. McDonald's.

I was in the middle of unloading a stock shipment. When I started, they had 2 truck shipments: one on Wednesday where 3 guys came in for 2 hours, all got paid and got a free meal then left. The other was on Sunday, and was much smaller. A single guy would come in, unload the truck and put shite away, get a break and a free meal, then work a 4 hour shift. I always did the Sunday trucks. They changed it so it was 50/50 Wednesday/Sunday but refused to give me any help... after a couple of months I'd had enough. I was in the middle of throwing 40lb boxes of hamburger patties around in the freezer when I just said "frick it" and left. Tapped my manager on the shoulder and said "have a nice life, I quit" and walked out. Manager chased me and asked me not to leave. No negative experiences after that.

Not a professional job, but yes. Worked at a lumber company/hardware store in New Mexico, and a contractor sales position opened up. Myself and an OT 9.275 who was dumb as a bag of chicken beaks put in for the job, she got it. When the boss told me, I told him to consider this meeting my 2 weeks notice.

No shite, walked downstairs from his office, the phone rings, it is one of the suppliers I dealt with in the department I ran offering me a job. Walked back up to the office, told the boss to stick his 2 weeks notice in his arse, and walked out the door.

I was eating lunch at Nicky's in Shreveport last Friday when a loud commotion erupted in the kitchen. It was the bus boy throwing down his rubbermaid tub and dirty dishes.

Young dude says, "frick you! And frick you, Carlos! I've been busting my arse for you mother frickers, I quit!"

Yes. I didn't like the job after the first week or so. They both lasted under a month. Cursed out both bosses. One was an a-hole, and the other wanted me to be his secretary after I was hired to sell something they didn't even sell out of that office. Best parts of my day were the drive to and from work and the reaction on my coworkers faces when they realized someone had eaten a few bites of their lunch.

It worked in the sense that I didn't have to miserable at a shitty job working with an a-hole every day

Yes but not a professional job. Was in college and had a boss get all pissy with me for forgetting a tool back in the warehouse. So as I walk back to get the tool I decide to quit and keep walking out to my car. One problem I had locked my keys in my car. Went back inside, got the tool and acted like nothing happened.

I worked as a merchandiser in the plant center at Lowe's in college. We'd show up, unload the trucks and no one really asked questions about where we were and shite when there wasn't any trucks. Our company lost their contract and I got on with the other company. They wanted me to work 8-5 full-time every day, when they knew I had class. I was in class one day and my boss called freaking out. I went over there and no one had done anything, just waiting on me to do it. So I left, my boss called me again cause i was still clocked in, I chewed her arse out because no one else, including her was doing what they were supposed to be doing. She told me she'd have to fire me and I told her that it was semantics because I quit. She then told me that she'd give me a good reference if I needed it. They also paid me a full work week I didn't work so she obviously clocked me in for a week to bill Lowe's those hours.

There is nothing wrong with walking out but don't think if you are in the wrong that the impression does not stay with people.

I had a kid that worked for my business 25 years ago that I ask to clean the bathrooms. I would do it myself most days in those times. He responded--"I don't do n***** work and walked out."

He ended up a car salesman and I never forgot that episode. Probably have bought 25-30 vehicles for the company or the family since then. Never one from him or his employer.

He hasn't a clue. He even walks up to shake my hand when he sees me around town.

I have nothing to gain by reminding of his past stupidity but I do take some satisfaction when he shakes my hand in knowing he has never made another cent off of me.

Yes, and it's LSU related:

I was a waiter one summer in undergrad. When the fall rolled around the manager told everyone they would be required to work during a few LSU games. I politely said "ok, then I quit" and walked out.

No. Only democrats can pull that shite off.

The rest of us have too many responsibilities, not the least of which is taking care of democrats that decide to quit their jobs along with the ones that don't want jobs to begin with.

I had a shitty job in the fall of 2006. They had me working on Black Friday. I left at lunch, went to a friends house to watch the LSU v Arkansas game, and never went back.

I also walked out of my job at Sonic in High School to go see Blue Oyster Cult.

Once I started my career I put that behind me though. Been with the same company since I graduated 9.5 years ago.

After being laid off last year. I went to an interview for a sales position. They sent me to Walmart to follow a current salesman. I knew it was probably not worth interviewing when I spoke to the regional manager on the phone but since oilfield wasn't coming back anytime soon, I decided what the hell.

Turned out they were peddling Cox Cable. Dude introduced himself and I told him I can't be someone I hate.

technically not a quit scenario but those people suck

The only job I ever quit without notice was my very first job, which was at a grocery store for two years. After enrolling in college, I gave the schedule manager the date I would be starting school. For several months prior, every two weeks at scheduling time, I kept reminding them "I start school on August --, after that, I can only work evenings and weekends." Every two weeks it was "Sure thing, we gotcha." When the work schedule was posted for the week I was starting LSU, they had me working full daytime shifts. I went to the manager, reminded them that I was starting school, and they looked at my like I had a dick growing out of my forehead and claimed I never told them about it. So I said, okay, no problem. Finished my shift, went home, and never went back. Three days later they call me up asking where I've been. I told them that I forgot to tell them that I had quit. They told me to bring my uniform shirts in; I told them they could come get them. I still have one of them somewhere, 21 years later...

That's a shitty aspiration. I mean i get it if you have a horrible boss or whatever, that it would be gratifying to show them you don't need them, and they in fact will miss your services. but to WANT to quit just to do it as a bucket list thing? idk.
