Yep, takes about it here plenty. Had a disease with a 15% mortality rate when treated and I came very close to some bad shite. I even kept all my limbs with minimal permenant damage.
What disease was it?

More times than I care to count.
The ones I remember offhand:
When I was very young a cable snapped. It put a light scratch across my nose rather than decapitating me.
I had a 300 honda 4x4 flip over backwards onto me in the same way the same bike killed a friend. I held on to the bike and ended up supporting it with my hands and feet rather than getting a gas tank to the chest.
While hoisting a large cypress log from each end when I was young, a chain slipped and the log swung into my chest. 10-13 ft long and 24in in diameter...no injuries.
I had a pipe box stand fall on me and I went through the plywood rather than getting hit by pipe.
I caught two ricochetes to the chest when U was in my early teens.
I put a safe family sedan into an oak tree at 45 when someone ran me off the road. No permanent injuries.
I flipped a 4x4 multiple times and ripped the seat belt mount through the body of the vehicle. No visible injuries. Compression fractured two vertebrae.
Nearly drowned as a kid because I was attempting to walk across a pool under water.
I am not invincible, but at this point I am starting to doubt my own mortality.

Passenger in a car hit by a school bus. Hit my side, stopped breathing and was resuscitated. Not bright light, so I was prolly hell-bound.

Was fishing in my 16' flat with my kid when he was around 10. We were dodging storms in Lake Borgne, but eventually got caught and had to run through the worst lightning I've ever seen for about 15 minutes. Finally made it back to the Pearl and pulled under a bridge. There was like a wood barrier under the bridge with what looked like a rope or cable running along top. There was nothing else to really tie onto, so I grabbed onto the rope-looking-cable to tie my bow line onto it. It shocked the ever-loving frick out of me. Not just a zap, but REAKKY shocked me. I thought I was dead the second I felt it. I was literally checking my pulse and feeling my chest to see if my heart was still beating.
tldr: Dodged death by electrocution by the ire of Zeus' lightning bolts only to grab onto an electrical cable once I reached "safety."

I have been bitten by poisonous snakes twice. Also was ran off the road by a truck hauling cane and entire vehicle was submerged in bayou lafouche. Worse time was being held hostage at gunpoint for over thirty minutes until me and a friend were brought into the store with the robbers and used as shields. The robbery was called into the cops and as they were getting there the robbers speed off, a high speed chase started for a couple miles till the robbers shot out their back window and both cop cars were stopped due to the amount of bullets that hit the engines.

This might count as cheating death too…A few years back I was converting my garage into a gameroom. I removed the electric garage door opener and all the hardware. I was a couple wrench turns away from removing the torsion spring when I thought to myself, "Maybe I should look into this a bit more." Posted on another message board and was told that I was seconds away from sure decapitation. I called a professional and let them remove it the right way.

Was about 5 or 6 when we were leaving my grandparents in the Lake Charles area heading home to the Houston area. In between Vidor and the Neches River Bridge, our van hydroplaned, bounced off the center concrete median, then hit the back of an 18 wheeler, which sent us into a full on spin. I convinced my mom to let me sit in the front seat, despite not being big enough to really do so. To make matters worse, I had the shoulder strap behind me so I could try to sleep. Somehow during the wreck, the passenger side door flung open, and I slide out of my seat belt. Somehow I grabbed the shoulder strap portion of the seat belt and held on for dear life. When our van finally came to stand still in the ditch on the complete opposite side of I-10, I was facing my mom, and my feet were on the bottom lip of the passenger side door frame still clinching the seat belt for dear life. People ran up and kept asking me if I was ok. I didnt understand why they were only checking on me because I was trying to calm down my mom and sisters. When the madness finally calmed down, the people in the car behind us said I was flying like Superman out of the passenger side door and was totally parallel to the ground at one point. Ever since that day, I wear a seat belt properly any time Im in a vehicle. I walked away with only a few glass cuts from the window and wind shield getting busted out during the wreck.

I was born dead and had to be resuscitated.

That scene with Dinero playing Russian roulette when he asks for three bullets is probably one of the most intense scenes I have ever watched.

Before they taped that scene Dinero told the vietnamese actor to really slap him so the emotions would be real and raw. He said his crying was not in the script but was real from being angry at the dude slapping the shite out of him. Lol

When I was 13 I pull started a 15hp Yamaha outboard. As soon as it cranked up it took off. Somehow it cranked up with the gear in between neutral and forward. I'm hanging for dear life outside the boat with the prop inches from my legs while it spins in circles. After a minute I was able to reach the kill switch.
Another time I was headed to SLU my freshman year and I fell asleep at the wheel at 6:45am headed to class. The side of the truck hit the airport exit sign which woke me up. Truck starts sliding down the overpass at 75mph. Luckily it didn't flip and it the tree line stopped me. Truck was totaled and all I had was a few cuts from glass in my face and arms.

Had a 30-06 bullet wiz by my head while running dogs years ago. One of the scariest moments of my life. If I were standing another six inches to the right I would of had a rather large hole coming out the back of my head that day.
Edit: I'v also flipped my four wheeler and my truck going 70.

In 1989, I woke up going 70 mph with all 4 tires in the median of I-10 between NO and BR. Do you know how many things there are to hit on that stretch?

Guy was trying to shoot a muzzleloader and it misfired. He put the butt of the stock on his thigh while he checked it out, inadvertently turning towards me while he did it. Apparently the powder was wet and it went off about 6 inches from my head. Felt the heat from the flash. Would not recommend

Is the whipple procedure specifically for pancreatic cancer? Or is it for other issues as well? Just curious if poster had pancreatic cancer at 35, wow.
