I think the closest I ever let drugs come to affecting my life was in grad school. I was living in Austin, and I was new in town and decided that smoking a ton of marijuana was a good idea.

However, I noticed that I would turn down nights out and parties because I wanted to get high and watch Muppet Babies.

Marijuana is actually a wonderful plant and is used for a ton of good, but too much of a good thing can weigh you down friends.

Yeah this dude on a forum I frequent used to smoke a lot of weed and had some weird fetish with puppets.

Long story short he started this awful topic on there and reading it made my eyes bleed.

Yes. Sat through plenty of DARE classes in 5th grade. Those classes sucked. I don't think I would have had to go to those classes if there were no drugs.

Through out highschool I had a drug addict brother who made life miserable around my house. He also stole items from me and my family that where heirlooms than can never be replaced.

He is clean today but I still despise him for what he took.

I used to snort a bunch of heroin about 5 years or so ago.

I graduated, was at an awesome job at an architecture firm and flushed all that down the drain.

I became the biggest piece of human shite their could be. It not only became a burden on me, but my family as well, which was the hardest part. Watching your mom cry and saying she doesn't want to lose you like so many of your acquaintances died is a tough pill to swallow.

I could go on and on but it's depressing.

I have since got everything back in my life, but doing what I did set me back a good bit. I also got a charge I'm on probation for still for kicking in someone's door who tried to get over on me. Such a great idea I tell ya. Hooray heroin!

Yes.

But smoking weed is still one of my most beloved pastime activities.

I had more issues with cigarettes when I was younger. Starting having health issues with my esophagus because of cigs and iI tried and tried to quit. Finally did after 7 years. Acid reflux went away, breathing was better, but most importantly, I didnt have nicotine cravings every 3 hours of the day which becomes annoying over time.

My story has been told on here about the effects of using norcos after a wreck. Those things are the devil if not used correctly or have a high tolerance which I did.

Script started running low and would look for other ways to find them. Thank God, after 4-5 years now I no longer have that problem to deal with and actually using what I went through to help others.

And at the same time I had no clue the girl I had been dating was using them a lot more than me and other drugs. We had been dating for a couple years. She was so good at covering things up and could make you believe the grass was actually blue. We dated in high school and met up 10 years later. Had no clue she had been to rehab already three times. Ended up losing everything I owned because of her. But thank God in March I finally got full custody of my daughter. Even though I lost everything, I still have my precious daughter.

And I guess to answer your question, yea, you lose friends and the "want" to, to go out and do anything unless you're feeling good.

I know tl;dr but there's always a light at the end of the tunnel if you're willing to accept it. I'm happy to be able to help others now.
