My take on why it has passed. When I first started posting on here there were alot of college students on here. Now you did have older people in here also but the older come and go due to IRL shite happenings (divorce, cheating, job changes). Where I notice the void is now no more young college students like before. I think the chance at scoring college chicks in here is gone. I remember getting random pics from people on here when I first joined now nothing over the last 2-3 years. Instagram, snapchat, etc. has taken the young people away. I watched several posters start as freshman and graduate on here now I can't tell you one young freshman on this board. Anyway that is my .02

Well, it still isn't over-moderated. That's usually the first sign. That sad, you can see the mods are pretty short w/ people. Not surprising, really.
The ads and adware has gotten much worse, though. The redirects, the loud audio, etc.
The boards don't move like they used to, too many boards, IMO.
Still, it's pretty cool to have a local board.

I think all of the boards have watered the OT down .. some of the best threads on the OT were started on topics that are now directed to specific boards .. In short, there's not really much to discuss on the OT any more ..

Unfortunately, I think that's part of the problem. People seem to congregate in their favorite board. Instead of the OT being diverse in age, interests, topics, etc., its become watered down with threads that seem to be on automatic loop.

Agreed.
I don't blame the owners. More boards = more clicks, more sales spots for banner ads, etc.
But it's kind of like radio in a way. For a real popular show, you can add more commercial breaks or charge more for the breaks that are already there.

I agree. New websites and then Twitter took my old butt away from TD's.
I've never been a fan of the Tiger Rant, but I used to live on the LSU Recruiting Board, The SEC Rant & the MTV Board. I never go to the recruiting board or SECR any more. I still read & occasionally post on the MTV board. I find myself over here on the OT Board more. Maybe it's because more of the other posters are older too.
