OT lawyers,

I was just wondering after watching all those SJW's marching around because Trump is planning on ending abortion.

Has a soon to be father, who is pro-life, ever taken the mother of his soon to be child to court, to make her not have an abortion?

Just wondering

I'm pretty sure this has happened countless times.

Never heard about it and it seems it would be a Supreme Court case.

Wouldn't it be easier to just pull out.

You don't think that there's ever been a single soon to be dad that didn't want the chick to abort? C'mon man.

I can't site an example, but surely this has happened many, many times.

It seems like you and OP are in the same exact place on this one, yet you come at him from a perceived position of heightened awareness on the situation.

Yes, because that's why they want to end abortion. The only people who think ending abortion is a good thing are the religious nut jobs who don't know any better.

No, I just think that out of all the abortions that have been done that there have to have been a lot where the father wasn't in favor. Just playing the numbers/odds.

I don't think technically by law the father of the baby or the father of the female has a legal right to know an abortion ever occurred.

Yeah I'm sure there's been a lot of abortions where the father never even knew, but I can't cite examples of those either.

I did see this on reddit the other day. Have no idea as to whether or not it's true, just something I came across. Dude definitely got torn apart though .

quote:

I got a girl pregnant and she wanted an abortion but I didn't want that. She ended up not getting one but now she's not involved at all.

We weren't in a serious relationship when she got pregnant. She has never met our son. Even after the birth she had no desire to see him. We went to court to figure custody and support could be figured out and I have 100% full legal and physical custody. Her name is on the birth certificate but she has no custody and no right to visitation or to make things like medical or education decisions. She didn't want any of that. Every month she pays 125% of the court ordered child support. She says that if I ever marry someone who wants to adopt him she will agree but until then she'll pay support. It's been this way since our son was born.

I'm raising our son all on my own. He is 18 months old now and he has never met her and I don't even have any photos of her even. I am burned out and hate being a single parent. I love my son but I resent him. My family tries to help when they can but I do it most of the time. I would never hurt or neglect him but I am exhausted all the time. I tried to go to court to give her split custody but because she wanted an abortion and I didn't and she made it clear she would never be involved after the birth, and because we went to court when he was 6 months old but because we already went after he was born and agreed on things and now she pays more support than is court ordered the judge said he can't force her to look after him. I haven't seen her in almost a year and the last I heard she has a tummy tuck and laser stretch marks treatment and is working at a gym. She also told her friends and family she is an egg donor and not a mother. She is a deadbeat mom and the court won't do anything and is forcing me to struggle as a single parent. Do I have any legal remedies here?

I think that's the exact opposite of what a deadbeat parent is. She's just an absent parent. Some people don't want kids and it's probably better for that kind of person not to be involved in the child's life.

Considering all the stories of a man being forced to pay child support for a kid they never wanted, it's good to hear about the same thing happening to a woman.

Having said all that, I'm not sure I believe this story, who the hell pays MORE than what the court ordered? Especially someone who doesn't want any contact with the child at all. It's nice to think it might be true tho.

Yeah, I applaud the girl in that situation. I know own it's got to the best tough for the guy. Single parent is rough for sure. So I can't beat on the guy for being overloaded. But I can surely smack him across the head for complaining about her when this is exactly what he asked for.

You can sue for anything, so someone probably has tried. The father just has no legal case, the decision whether to have an abortion or not rests solely with the woman.

It is completely the woman's choice and the man has absolutely no say in any aspect of the decision. The federal government has mandated that abortion and child birth have absolutely nothing to do with the father of the child.

If the woman on her own, with 0 input from the man, decided to keep the baby it is now the man's federally protected responsibility to pay the woman for 18-26 years depending on circumstances.

I'd guess the supreme court would deny writ on that case because its established pretty clearly its a woman's right and the man has nothing to do with it
