Has the NOLA smoking ban started yet? If so, are bars you frequent enforcing it?

If it is, I haven't been to any bars that are enforcing it. I go to dive/shithole bars pretty much all of the time though. The nicer places didn't allow it anyway, so it's no different to me.

Next weekend will be the last weekend before the ban. I think the ban starts on a Wednesday or something strange like that. Not sure why.

IDGAF. Not gonna affect me with the places I go. There is no way that a bar owner is gonna boot 90% of their clientele for smoking, or make them smoke outside for that matter.

If the places I frequent don't allow it, I'll just go to a place that will. I'd put money on them not following the rules though

I'll post pics of me smoking in a bar on April 24th.

I don't go to fru fru arse fancy places very often. Those places already don't allow smoking, and it doesn't bother me. Like I said in my last post, there is no way that the bars I go to will alienate the 90% of their clientele that smoke. They would have to close if that happened. I was in a bar Thursday with about 25 other people. Every single one of them smoked either a cigarette or a cigar while I was there.

sounds pretty trashy. I bet you smelled like an a-hole that smoked a cigarette when you left.

Here in Houston the same shite happened and the same argument. NOLA bars will not violate the law forever. They will be scared and cave to the smokers for a while, and some will look the other way. One place got rid of ash trays but used something I can't recall that could be used for food.

But eventually one will get dinged by the state or city? Whoever enforces. Smokers will bitch and moan but they will eventually return to bars. Who wants to drink alone just so they can smoke in their dingy fricking house or apartment? all clubs/bars will expand or build a patio and folks will walk outside to smoke.

Also cigar bars or hookah bars will open where smoking will be allowed. Some places just outside NOLA and Parrish will still have smoking. The hardcore will drive out there.

Times are a changing smokers. Suck it up buttercup. But they frick with beer? I will wail like a bitch.

bullshite laws. Private business should be allowed to decide whether to allow it. Don't like smoke? Don't go there.

Sounds like previously most who didn't like it went to bars that don't allow it and those who smoke enjoy the ones who do allow it.

Problem is all allowed it.

And restaurant/bars had it. Smoke eaters work for shite. It ends up being cheaper to places in the long run. Less waste, not cleaning ash trays, no smoke eaters.

All nice places have a nice patio for the smokers.

My sitting at a bar drinking beer does not pollute anything. Unless a stout or a spunky beer. Then my arse will pollute the place. But one cigarette smokes up half the room.
