I tried a few open mics in Little Rock but it was nerve racking. Anyone else?

No one else has.
Ever.
Ever.

man, you would need to have some serious balls to try that...no one there to save you if you bomb.

I would like to, but I'm just not very funny

I knew a guy from highschool that did. He made it pretty big.
I also "hung out" with a girl a few years ago that does all of the local sets.

I tried stand-up once, but I fell flat.

I love stand up and have a few jokes written but I am too nervous to try them out. I live in a small town where everyone knows everyone makes it even worse

I know a guy who did and the videos are on YouTube and it's absolutely fricking awful.
Like you know how "comedians" start cursing to cover up how bad their set is?

Thank God, no. But if ever cornered into that I'd start with "So I farted myself awake on a packed flight" and if it gets as much as one snicker ""Goodnight!!"

Well I laughed my arse off at that

You may have seen a good friend of mine up there, CB. He says the scene there is pretty good. It's been awesome that NOLA has gotten some guys to do some shows here I saw Louie and Dave Chapelle in like a 2 week period.

I do stand up comedy at my church. Mostly observational stuff.

So you've apparently thought about this. I'd like to know what you built up in your imagination for a scenario where you are "cornered" into doing stand-up.
There's a bomb in the bar, and the only way to diffuse it is for you to stand in front of that brick wall and try to make people laugh. You'd be a fricking hero.

Deep Purple Haze has a killer act. It can go about 25 minutes and it is side-splitting.

You are not being paid for the act. You're being paid to leave afterwards.
