I've always wanted to try it. I know UFC or LA boxing offers classes but do you actually get to fight someone or is it just classes? I would imagine if you do get to get in the ring there is probably a ton of waivers that has to be signed.

I've been to UFC. The basic classes they offer are mainly for conditioning. but you do get to punch the bag and do kicks and that sort of thing
Now, they have advanced classes where you can spar with other folks but i think you have to do the beginner classes for a few months and learn the techniques
And LA boxing is now UFC...There are other gyms like these guys too out there in BR

I did boxing training/classes for a work out.
Never got in a ring though. Never wanted to either.

I was a beast back in the day on Mike Tyson knockout. How may I help you?

It would take a bit of training before you would actually spar; that is, if the instructor knows what he's doing.

Yes. Don't do it.
Tl;dr: Unless you're super serious, stick with a heavy bag in your garage
In high school, there was a boxing school near where I lived that served as an outreach program for troubled kids, mainly those who were recently released from juvenile hall. BUT, if you were a kid from the suburbs genuinely interested, you could pay $10/mo to get your arse kicked by these kids. I'm proud to say I was never knocked down, but I can guaran-damn-tee you this: shite gets real when you're in the ring against a kid your age who's already been arrested for assault. I learned a lot though...great conditioning too

I know UFC
They don't teach you the ins and outs of boxing they just make you do this extremely rigorous boxing routine with a lot of bag work with cardio mixed in. It will damn near kill you the first week.

My dad was a boxer and got me into it. It seems fun and stuff until you get punched.

Yes, in high school. Found it to be enjoyable if I was winning but less so if I was losing. Acquired a wonderfully sculpted nose as a reward.
