When I renovated my house I gave a lot of quality stuff to them. Dated but still quality.

Use the one in Bryan all the time, it's hit or miss but you can get great deals on things.

They have some nice stuff. An estimator that works for me estimated some 6'8" int wood doors rather than 8'. Didn't have a use for them; they went to the Restore where I live.

It's hit or miss whether they will have what you want, or whether or not the items are of good quality, but the prices are good.

Yeah last time I was in there which was a few weeks ago it was all trash. I think I picked up some work gloves for working around the house and that's it.
I've gotten some decent tools from there. A hardware store in Gonzalez donated a bunch of stuff there earlier in the year and I was able to get a lot of the stuff I would eventually use for 70-80% off retail.

No, but I did 40 hours of community service at one. They have a lot of new stuff and what isn't is in good condition. You might not get your first choice of material there, but if you're willing to work with what they have then it's a good option.

I got 57 square feet of Italian porcelain tile for like 33c a tile there. So yeah it can be great. Mostly shite tho

all depends on the location.
the one we go to is near the franklin, tn historic district and those home are red-hot and constantly being upgraded so there's always some donated hidden treasure there.

My first washer/dryer combo was bought at one of those when I first moved out of the dorms on base. That dryer looked like a huge hunk of shite when we bought it. It worked like a champ until we moved to San Antonio though. I think we paid $30. I installed a wingnut to keep the door closed.
It really depends on when you go. Sometimes they have good stuff, sometimes they don't. It really depends on what you need as well. Supporting a family on an E-3 salary will force you to lower your standards in times of need.

I have bought doors and windows from there.
They sometimes have appliances I can get cheap or even parts.
The one on Elysian Fields is really good.

The one between Mandeville-Abita Springs gets quite if bit from local builders.
And you could tour Abita Brewery.
Two-fer.
