Right close to lake tahoe. I'd love to hear some opinions on the area.

Did a few hikes back there about ten years ago since my brother lives out there. I'm not sure if I did and saw Fallen Lake with a Mt. Tallac hike. Tallac hike was kind of a bitch from what I remember. It's all beautiful around there. Can't go wrong with a trip out there.

If you have the money, it's a great area. My brother moved to Reno around 2000 or so. At that time, it was still very affordable, but so much Cali money has been pumped in there in the last decade that it's a bit tougher to live well now. You'd probably have to be a baller to live in Tahoe proper. I think there are some slightly more affordable areas around there like Truckee that are still beautiful, but not quite as insane in terms of cost of living. Added bonus with all of the outdoor activities is that San Francisco is only like 3.5 hours drive.

Spent a great deal of time there after my wife left me. I can assure you from personal experience that it is in fact an authentic freshwater lake. One interesting thing about it is that it's close to Lake Tahoe. Only downside is that there is an abundance of fallen foliage. Historians believe that this was actually the inspiration for the lake's name

The outdoors out there in Sierra Nevada and northern Cali are amazing. So clean. Tahoe was so clear it looked like we were flying.
