All of a sudden not cooling as well. Stuff in freezer is getting mushy and fridge is cool, not cold
It's an older fridge and no issues till now. Read online to empty it out and unplug it for 24 hours and plug it back in to see it that helps. Is that BS?
Any other things I can look for or am I SOL?

Sounds like you have either a bad compressor or some blocked coils.
Time for a new fridge.

They make fridges big enough to fit a garage?

To remove it for inspection, you'll need a Langstrom 7/8 inch Gangley Wrench.

Could take off the cover at the back of the freezer. Bet it's covered in ice. Use a hair dryer and thaw it out.

Here's your problem
It's all ball bearings nowadays. Now you prepare that Fetzer valve with some 3-in-1 oil and some gauze pads. And I'm gonna need 'bout ten quarts of anti-freeze, preferably Prestone. No, no make that Quaker State.

I was gonna say tie rod and send him home with some power steering fluid. The generic kind, cause all that shits the same.
