Is this hotel in a bad area? Not too familiar with Monroe area, its the closest hotel to where I will be hunting next week.

No,it's fine. I stay there for work all the time. It's only about 2 years old. It's a nice property. Across the interstate is the Mall and restaurants. There's Sam's and a Lowe's nearby as well.

Hwy 165/MLK would be considered "bad"

It's the outskirts of town next to the mall. It'll be fine.

Eat at Mohawk Tavern.

You should be fine. Just don't stay at one US Hwy165.

Hampton sold that property on 165 when they built this one by the mall, the on 165 is now a "Quality" Inn. Outdoor Entry.

Have stayed there. Perfectly safe.

I'm from Monroe, you really have try hard to find a dangerous area. Not that they aren't there, they are just really easy to avoid.
