So a college-bound 19 year old with two kids finds a loaded gun and decides to start taking selfies with it. Sounds logical. Surely he would have done a great job teaching gun safety to his kids.

What makes you think that the children's mother and family will not be paying for those children on their own and will require financial assistance from taxpayers?

Likely lying right out in the open of someone else's car or home.
Considering there was a death and an illegally attained firearm, possibly an illegally possessed firearm if either man or his cousin had a previous conviction, certainly the cousin could be charged with several already written firearms regulations and potentially as an accessory to murder or negligent manslaughter.
Anyone want to place odds that ANY criminal action is taken against the cousin in possession of an illegal firearm at the scene of a fatal shooting?
