Client of mine "übered" home with her sister the other night. Cops pull them over, arrest the uber guy for DWI. Best part? Third offense

How the hell does that happen?

Nah, the corporate office is too busy participating in a circle jerk to give a shite about actual drivers and passenger safety.

I don't know but I forwarded this to the people I know at Uber. I am sure they will get back to me and let me know what happened because they are all over stuff like this. Uber also has been bringing libel suits left and right against people who make up stories so if it isn't true they might subpoena your IP info from TD but no worries if its true.

Surely KHOU or KPRC would post that story considering the flak uber is receiving

That's why these guys have to be held to the same standards as cab drivers.

Uber uses third party companies to process background checks that go above and beyond industry standards...they go as far as obtaining physical copies of background checks from local clerks of court.

I can tell you, if somebody had even 1 DWI at any point within the last 10-15 years they will not get hired.

Either your story is bullshite or this driver was driving on somebody elses account.

I'm just passing along what I was told. I wasn't there. She looked him up online the day after and found the info. Also said she let uber know what happened. Last I heard they were at minimum refunding her ride home

My neighbor"s ne'er do well live in boyfriend Ubers on Friday and Saturday nights. He has been arrested a few times for a combo of misdemeanors (disturbing the peace, fighting amongs those) and he uses HER car (like a boss here).....

That would suck. I guess that's a flaw about Uber. I imagine it's easy to share an account whereas a taxi license is not transferable.

Well your title is pretty slanderous without having firsthand knowledge of the situation
