Hey everybody, before you pull out your torches and pitchforks, hear me out please.
(flameshield up)

I think I have made it clear that I am have a Physics BS from Louisiana Tech and I am pursuing Electrical Engineering at Southern.

Since I was accepted into grad school, I thought it was going to be much more difficult material. I knew I was being defiant going into a higher degree level for a subject I struggled with, but I know myself better than an institution. However so far the information does not seem to be harder to learn.

I just wanted to know if anyone has experienced that graduate or professional level study is the same or easier than undergraduate studies.

This is not a school bashing thread, I honestly want to know if anyone has experienced this before and perhaps why.

High school was much tougher for me than LSU and even tougher than my grad program. It varies from institution to institution, even instructor to instructor.

As to why, expectations vary from place to place. I also sought classes in my higher education that suited my strengths and interests with lighter workloads. Not something I'm proud of, but pretty typical.

I never went to Grad school, but I've heard people say it's easier because you pretty much teach yourself and you're on your own. That can make it harder, if you aren't focused I suppose. I guess it depends on what you're studying.

Masters degree classes are usually pretty easy. Smaller classes, professors spend more time going over stuff, and they're not worried about having to make sure a certain percentage passes the class, plus most folks in grad school are going for PhDs so the professors know they're also having to do research. I'm not sure what you're going for, but research and publications are what separate the wheat from the chafe in grad school.

My apologies for any run on or incomplete sentences, but I've been drinking tonight so I'm not overly concerned with proofreading at the moment.

Here's a crazy thought: you've been in school for a long time now. Maybe the fact that you've had so much schooling has prepared you for graduate school. You should know, especially in physics, basically all the fundamentals are the same. It's how they're applied and affected by various situations that it gets tricky. Already having an undergraduate degree, I'm sure you have a decent amount of practice applying the laws and fundamentals. In grad school, you're doing the same thing over again. Maybe more detail in derivations and principles and whatever else depending on the class, but it's still the same fundamentals and same process that you've been doing for years now. That's probably why it seems easier because you already have practice doing it.

You're at Southern, dude. There's not a program there that's much harder than an intro BRCC class.

It is my 2nd Year in Graduate School. And I recognize that I have more challenges ahead. I am only stating my experiences up until now.

I have no plan on pursuing a PhD. I will try to find employment after I earn my Masters Degree

After you get a job, are you going to continue to validate your education choices by pestering your coworkers with questions?
