Called up my insurance and asked them when my insurance ran out and they said I had a grace period through the end of the month. I get a call 5 minutes ago from doctor saying they see my insurance as expired and want $500 for visit tomorrow. Shouldn't a doctors visit be covered in grace period?

Probably only emergency stuff, or they will pay if you come current on payments.

No doctors visit should be 500, negotiate.

It's complete bs, the cost. The dude is a fricking ankle and foot specialist. I'm most pissed that they had all my information for months and they tell me now. I already canceled.

Did your status of uninsured change in the last 7-14 days?

They probably never cared about you until today.

It did. But I remember talking to about it at the time and they seemed non-plussed
