At age 59 that's a long 3 wood, but some 3 woods can reach out there better than some drivers. I can hit my dad's Callaway Diablo 3-Draw over 300, my longest was 317. Ftr, I'm not saying that is consistent, I only do that about once in every 20-25 swings.
My point is, 278 with a three wood is easily possible. Depending on the three wood and the man.

lord, if you're talking average "straight" drives then every amateur can add about 25-30 yards to their average drive.
My average drive is probably 255 but that takes into account the 20% of my drives that slice like a sumbitch. My average "straight" drives are probably 270-280. A better question would be, "what percentage of your drives are straight?"

Lowest the SF Tec comes in is 10*... adjustable to 9*
Never tried the BB7. And I've only tested the G30. Lots of forgiveness. Love it. Should come in in about two weeks. They didn't have any with x-stiff in stock.

yeah, back on point, this story is horseshite.
I have played golf for 20+ years and for 6 summers in a row I played at least 18 holes a day Tuesday-Sunday, unless weather sucked. I have played competitively a ton too. Point is, I have played A LOT of golf holes and had 1 hole in one when I was 12 years old.
2 in one round is unheard of. 3 is just bullshite.

Any of you baws tried the Snell golf balls? Ad is intriguing, but I'm a sucker for golf equipment ads. Claim to be designed by one of the creators of the pro v1 and penta. They show teasing specs where the ball out performed or equaled the Pro V1 with driver, 6 iron and wedge.
