Our annual trip this year will be to RTJ Grand National in Opelika/Auburn.

Last year was to RTJ Capitol Hill in Prattville and next year will be to RTJ Ross Bridge/Oxmoor Valley.

ETA: I'm also playing a few rounds in Iceland this year, as well as Eastlake in Atlanta, but those are just cool stops during non-golfing related trips.

I was out there two years ago and stayed at the Marriott Resort. Played the three nine hole tracks at Starr Pass several times.

The Erin Hills and Whistling Straits trip is awesome. I did it back in June and may do it again in Sept. for the LSU game. Staying the night at Erin Hills is worth it. It's not a resort/spa/shopping destination like Kohler. It's all about the golf with good food, drinks, and great service.

I want to make a trip out to Bandon, OR to play Pacific, Bandon, Old Mac, etc.

ETA - One of the many stories I can share on the difference in service/experience between Straights and Erin Hills...When we played Straits, we made the turn 5 min behind pace. The group behind us was 1.5 holes back and we could see the group in front of us in 10 fairway. The Marshall still came up to us and said we were behind and needed to speed up. Our caddie said that they're nazis about pace(as much play as they get, I understand somewhat) even if no one's behind you.

When I told the starter at Erin Hills about it, his response was, "you paid a lot for this and you deserve to enjoy it. As long as you're not slowing anyone up, take as long as you want to finish." He even told us some great greens/location to hit some fun "trick" shots.

A few buddies and I do a trip every year around the first weekend in May.

Last Year: RTJ Capitol Hill, Judge and Legislature
RTJ Ross Bridge
RTJ Oxmoor Valley, Ridge and Valley

This Year: RTJ Hampton Cove, Highland and River
RTJ The Shoals, Fighting Joe and Schoolmaster
Day 3 Options: Old Waverly, Northwood CC, Ross Bridge again

Also every year I go to stay with my cousin's family in Dallas and we play 2 days and go to the Colonial 2 days. Last year we played the Tribute and Tour 18. Any suggestions in the Dallas Metro area would be appreciated. I've played the Cowboys course in Grapevine as well.

Dancing Rabbit does not. It is open to the public, and it is really nice. The price is a little bit extreme, but worth playing.

I still haven't played Waverly. You do have to stay there to play if you do not have a member to sponsor you. I've had many people that have volunteered to help me out but we can't get the dates scheduled to where it works out for both parties. I am looking forward to that the most of any course I have ever played. Time is building anticipation in that regard.

Mossy Oak is actually building a new course right across the road from Waverly that will be just as nice. To be finished early in 2017.

Sorry I missed this back in Feb...Straits is almost always busy and can be really tough on the weekends.

Erin Hills is usually open in the afternoons, but can get booked up in the mornings. With the US Open coming up I'm sure it's getting some increased traffic. They usually have tee times reserved for people that stay onsite. If those are booked, they'll probably bump somebody for you because they cater to thier onsite guests.

I'm going to Grapevine for work in August and bringing my clubs. I may try to play out there. How did you like it?

In Alabama now. 36 at Oxmoor Valley yesterday. 36 at Grand National today. Playing the 3 courses at Capitol Hill Saturday and Sunday. Wet but still nice. Cart path only makes for an exhausting day.
