I have some rings that were handed down to me, and I wanted to get a few re-sized and given out to family.
How much am I looking at per ring to increase and/ or decrease size?
All rings currently size 6. Two of the rings have less precious stones and I wanted to take apart the gaudy men's ring given to me and put the stones on it on the other rings. Is that possible?
(do the small diamonds have any value, or is the ring worth only it's Gold weight if I remove it's larger stones?)

I'm not big on jewelry and I would rather make nice gifts that keep these heirlooms in the family rather than just scrap them for gold.

I guess mainly, where is a place I can go and get this done for a good price, Southshore metro area?

Go to Jared. That place is on a lot of people's lips this time of year.

I would want to stay out of any larger retailers. mainly trying to find a well priced local repair guy. I'm not trying to pay a ton here and I could even supply the gold they need to stretch the bands.

I hear ya.. I was making a lame joke.

Google lists a bunch of seemingly private, smaller jewelers. LINK

Salles Jewelry in Slidell is the only place I will go to have my wife's jewelry worked on and/or made. It is worth the drive from Baton Rouge, as they offer the highest quality in craftsmanship for the most reasonable price you could imagine.

I know. and I also know that asking here rather than just google seems funny. But there is a whole TD small business network that you can tap into. I'm trying to get there.

Waiting for the post
"I fix jewelry, I'll do it all for x amount of gold or $x"

No biggie.

Not even a little bit. You get insight into questions that you need more than just an address.

Carry on.
