On my way to OLOL to get my endoscope done to see how far the cancer has spread. This will determine how much surgery I need and how much chemo and radiation I still need to do to get rid of the cancer the surgery will miss. Wish me luck and keep me in yalls prayers. Thanks

Everything happens for a reason

Even if it wasn't intended, to say cancer "happens for a reason" diminishes from the very real struggle that this guy and his family have ahead.
However tenuous is the grasp I have on the meanings or intention of whatever cosmic forces contrived to create our brief time in this mortal coil, I don't believe they would intend to deliberately cause suffering for the sake of some higher cause.
Sometimes bad shite just happens to good people.

Children die without having ever tasted food. Entire cultures are wiped out by warlords. Generations of families have been destroyed on the altars of ethnic cleansing or religious belief. I don't think there is a lesson worth that cost.
Perhaps our worldviews are just different. But I find it hard to find a lesson in the parable of human suffering.
At any rate, I don't want to hijack this thread. Prayers and positive vibes for the OP.
