Got a ticket tonight for parking in a handicap zone on campus here when I was only planning on being there for a short time and there was literally zero place to park near by. After looking into it I see the fine for that is usually some where around $300 which is ridiculous. I'm fine with paying a fine but not $300. Has anyone gotten one of these and had it reduced before?

ETA: i was give a city ticket not campus.

Laws are Laws.

Stop being a lazy frick and park in a legal spot a little bit further away.

Consider yourself lucky. I once saw a guy slammed down hard on a car hood and arrested for parking in a handicapped spot.

That's what all the scofflaws say. Pay the fine and be thankful that you've got legs to walk those few extra steps.

Too bad the judge can't sentence you to a wheelchair for about a year.

I suppose you could show up to court and ask the city prosecutor to knock it down to something cheaper in exchange for a guilty plea. I don't know any other way of paying less. Maybe the court will take partial payments. Some courts do.

I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune, but it delights me to see that cops are actually ticketing people for illegal parking.

Too many asshats, OP I'll let you decide whether or not to include yourself, park in fire lanes and handicapped spots. Just use your two functioning legs and walk your lazy arse from point A to point B.

Does BR city court not issue bench warrants? I believe they do.

Considering I go to school at ULM I'd say I frequent Monroe often.

Uh and what if a handicapped person had shown up and need that spot. You're wrong and you know it. Pay the fine.

If it's $300, be grateful that it's only $300. I've seen $500 handicap fines.
