I've seen an awful lot of hate & outright stupidity expressed here but when goldennugget wrote that "Himmler saw to it that living conditions at all camps were good. He wanted to make sure they were eating 3 meals a day & got 8 hrs of sleep and made it a priority to reduce sleep".....that is the absolute dumbest comment I have ever read about WW11, the Nazis, the Holocaust, whatever. Read the book "Himmler", his life story, and over half of the book uses documents that he himself signed.There are also several 100 conversations various Nazis had with him, in those Nazis own words, that are quoted extensively through out the book. Himmer was pure, raw, unabated evil & probably the one person most responsible for all that happened to the Jews in the Holocaust. But that aside: 3 meals a day: of complete & total slop. Maybe. 8 hours of sleep: with 10 prisoners crammed into small, wooden bunks, no pillows. thin, useless pieces of blankets. A priority to reduce deaths? Himmer himself, in several documents bearing his own signature, raised hell when a particular transport of Jews from Hungary took so long to exterminate. Over 400,000 Hungarian Jews were murdered in less than a mth and that was not fast enough for him. And people today wonder why & how the Holocaust could have happened? Joseph Goebbels himself could not have written more strident anti Semite trash than what is expressed here. But the comment re the racial makeup of "most Southerners" comes in a close second in rank stupidity.

Eugenics, in some tame forms, are pretty cool. Obviously sterilizing/killing people with deformities/diseases is awful, but there is some interesting science involved with the other stuff.

Selective Breeding is crazy and cool to think about, when voluntary of course. Lebron James and Candace Parker babies. Michael Phelps and best woman swimmer babies. Usain Bolt and Eugene Jeter babies.

Find a man with eidetic memory to procreate with the smartest woman in the world, just to see what is passed down and what is not.

That kind of stuff fascinates me.
