A Georgia man shot his mother-in-law in a freak accident after a bullet he fired at an armadillo ricocheted off the creature's back.
Larry McElroy, 54, was outside 74-year-old Carol Johnson's mobile home in Lee County on Sunday night when he took aim with his 9-mm pistol at the animal, WALB reported.
The critter was killed by the round.
But the projectile bounced back off its armor, hit a fence and traveled 100 yards to fly through the back door of the property, police said.

Pulling a shot like that off once is pretty fricking awesome. Doing it twice... now that's hall of fame material right there.

I hate the whole Germans thing but...
Come on, man. You know it has made it's way here already.

That's weird, even a .22 will usually go right through.

I was driving down I-95 at 90 mph on the way to Key West a few years ago in my pals Hyundai Sonata. It was round 1 a.m. Armadillo comes waltzing across the highway and right before i hit it the armadillo popped into a ball. It was like a good pop on a pinball machine. The thing had to have flown 65 yards into the pine trees. I'll never forget that.

So he murdered his mil and blamed it on an armadillo? Interesting

That MIL must be one tough bitch or she wears a bullet proof vest

As a kid I would shot them all the time with a decent air rifle. I don't recall having any bounce off.
